What a week!

David got his first bad owie.
The other day I came home from work and David had a small scratch on his nose. The nurse said she had taken him outside and he had fallen. No big deal. Well, that night, the scratch started to bruise. Before it got any better, it got much worse. It got all purple and blue, and then green and yellow. It's gone now, but here's the pictures when it was still fresh. (And of his most recent haircut.)

He was so good for his haircut (which is unusual haha)

And, we got the picture hung up above David's play area.... excuse the mess 36_1_20%5B1%5D.gif

Then, David fell into the bathtub! Of course, there was no water in there 36_1_20%5B1%5D.gif

I was in the laundry room, and David was (I thought) playing in the living room.

Suddenly I hear him cry, and I go to find him, and he's got the upper part of his body in the bathtub, the lower part of his body outside the bathtub, his feet raised off the ground, and he's holding himself up with his hands inside the tub. 36_11_6%5B1%5D.gif

It shouldn't be funny, but it kinda was. And don't worry, the bathroom is childproof.

So now I have a baby gate to the bathroom.

My nephew, Weston's first wrestling meet was last Saturday, and David and I decided to go to lunch before going. We met Amy, Wes, and Jaxon at Leal's. I ordered David a quesadilla with beans and rice. He ate REALLY well.

Then we went to the wrestling meet. David was excited 36_1_20%5B1%5D.gif

His mood quickly changed to bored after we had been there for a little while

And then mad 36_1_20%5B1%5D.gif

Anyways, here's the best pictures I could get of Weston - he's in yellow. We were pretty far away.

I attempted to take some St. Patrick Day pictures recently.
You'd think this kid was two or something. 36_19_4%5B1%5D.gif I can't get him to stay still or cooperate for anything in the world!

Anyways.... here's what I ended up with:
he would NOT wear the hat.

I couldn't even keep him still long enough to get a good picture of him in the bow tie 36_1_20%5B1%5D.gif

This picture cracks me up... this must've been about the time that I realized he was done 36_11_6%5B1%5D.gif 36_11_6%5B1%5D.gif

And then yesterday, David learned how to open the screen door. Crap.gif

As I watched him, he opened the screen door, and walked right outside, wearing only his shirt and diaper, even closing the door behind him! 36_19_2%5B1%5D.gif I couldn't believe he did that! Anyways, he obviously got in trouble for that. 36_1_20%5B1%5D.gif

Anyways, after he got out of time out, I got him dressed and took him outside. I wanted to get some good pictures of him playing, but he wouldn't let go of me long enough to even look around (he sure wasn't scared earlier!) so here's what I got:

David had his ECI yearly evaluation on Friday. Every year the therapists have to gather together and rate David on a scale that determines how developmentally delayed he still is. I'm always a little sad after these meetings because it's so easy for me to build a little bubble around us all year long, only seeing the progress that he's making, thinking everything is great. But, even though it's a little bit discouraging, I was left with some good goals to work with. Anyways, here's how he rated:

Cognitive (thinking skills) - 22 months, which is a 9 month delay
Language - 18 months, which is a 13 month delay
Gross motor - 15 months, which is a 16 month delay
Fine motor - 13 months, which is an 18 month delay
Social - 18 months, which is a 13 month delay
Self help - 18 months, which is a 13 month delay

Another thing that I noticed is, that many of the things that he was not able to do, I truly believe is because he can't see them. So, as much as I hate to admit it, I believe that David needs glasses. We have an eye doctor appointment on Monday.

I was trying to get a video of all his new tricks, so I could show all of you how smart he really is... but he didn't cooperate for very long. At any rate, this video makes me smile, maybe it will you as well.

Aww he is so darn cute!! He is growing like a weed. I'm so happy for him and you how well he is blossoming. Are those assessments from his birth date or from his due date? I would think that they would have to go off of when he should have been born not when he was. He was still just trying to grow into a baby those first 3.5 months or so. So if it is off of his birth date, I think you should cut off 4months or so off of those dates.
