My first son passed away. He would have been five years old on Friday.
I'm sure most of you know, but like David, Ricky was born very prematurely. He was born at 27 weeks and 2 days, and weighed 1 pound, 8 ounces. He was born at about 10:45pm on a Friday night, and fought for his life until God decided it was his time, and took him a little bit after midnight on Sunday, October 29, 2002.
I went to the cemetery yesterday for the first time in a long time. I also mourned his loss again for the first time in a long time. It's hard for me to understand God's reasoning for taking away my son, but I know part of the reason is so that I can cherish every single moment with David. I can only hope that one day we'll be together again. In the meantime, I'm making it my personal mission to make Ricky proud by how I raise David, and make sure that David always knows about his big brother - Ricky deserves that.
Anyways, I thought I would share a couple of neat things I saw when I went to the cemetery.
Ricky is in good company - he's buried in the section of the cemetery called "Garden of Angels," and this place always looks very festive. There's wind chimes ringing all the time, and always lots of flowers and dolls.
I also thought I'd share one of the very few pictures that I have of Ricky when he was alive:

Anyways, here's some new pictures of David!
Kylee, Meme, and David
Something I saw outside my house this weekend:
This thing was HUGE! I couldn't believe how close it was to my house! EEK!
David has FINALLY overcome his phobia of being outside!
He's playing with grass and sticks. haha...
Taking a walk with our nurse, James
And here's a blackmail picture, for sure.
David tried peanut butter and jelly this weekend for the first time!
And a bonus picture of Jaxon, my nephew.
That's it for now!
He weighed in at 1 lb, 4oz, and was 12.5 inches long.
Here's his story.
